So much so that in recent years, and with the influx of young professionals to the area, the line is likely to begin forming at 9:00 a.m. on weekends. Never mind, it moves quickly and the short wait is worth it; although some of us do have nostalgia for the days when it wasn’t quite the hip spot it has become! That said, who has not enjoyed its quiet bustle in the wee hours after a night on the town in DC when the need for fried sustenance becomes urgent?
The menu is straightforward diner cooked with loads of TLC. I seriously recommend the breakfast…even though the area has some very good breakfast joints, Bob & Edith’s is consistently good plain cooking and servers are happy to listen to requests for options, such as a couple of slices of grilled tomato with your B & E Bacon & Eggs. Service in general is always friendly, helpful and super-fast.

Parking: Parking is tight. No messing around. There are a couple of spaces in the small parking lot outside, shared with a garage and tricky to maneuver when the restaurant is busy. There are places in the neighborhood nearby though, if you know where to look. And if you live in the immediate neighborhood it’s a pleasant stroll up or down the Pike
