Artist Bio:
My name is Roger Doyle. I was born in Lafayette, Indiana March 11th, 1954. My family moved to Pensacola, Florida when i was young. I first studied art at Pensacola Junior College under Carl Duke & Harvey Rundquest. At age 22 I entered the Corcoran School of Art where i studied under Williem Christenberry & Rona Slade.
The coloring book has greatly influenced my painting. I begin each painting with a black drawing on a white canvas which is, in essence, a coloring book page to be filled with color. This extremely simple format allows me a freedom of thought where i can apply my more complicated theories on art within an existing well-built structure. The coloring book influence began at an early age.
